The CHRISTUS Stehlin Foundation was founded in 1969 by Dr. John S. Stehlin – a brilliant surgical oncologist with empathy for his patients and a vision to combine research and medicine to improve cancer treatment.
Until his retirement in 2002, Dr. Stehlin worked with a talented group of researchers and a clinical staff to achieve novel therapies and procedures that changed the lives of people with cancer forever.
Today, the CHRISTUS Stehlin Foundation continues to advance human cancer research in a world class laboratory. Its purpose is to conduct cancer research that can be applied directly to improving patient treatment. All of the Foundation’s research is clinically oriented.
Through exciting breakthroughs in drug development and cancer treatment, Dr. Stehlin’s vision lives on.
Cancer research is a painstaking process, requiring dedication, imagination, and optimism. The CHRISTUS Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research has pioneered anticancer drug and treatment studies for more than 40 years.
