Our
award-winning Educational Scholarship Program was begun
in 1980 for the purpose of giving high school and college
students interested in pursuing careers in the basic sciences
and medicine an opportunity to work in the research laboratory
during alternating semesters or during the summer, gaining
invaluable hands-on experience on the front lines of cancer
research and treatment. Students are paid by the Foundation
for their work with the express understanding that those
funds must be used to alleviate their own educational expenses.

Physicians
and scientists are actively involved in community services
and education, providing seminars to major corporations and
cancer screenings at St. Joseph Hospital and other locations
throughout the community. Clinicians, researchers, psychotherapists,
and other health care professionals speak on a variety of
cancer related topics at local, national, and international
meetings, private groups and functions, and radio and television
talk shows throughout the year. Interested parties should
contact the speakers bureau at the CHRISTUS Stehlin Foundation office.
